Information You Submit
Queries Sent to Search Providers
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems. The provider’s privacy terms govern its receipt and use of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email us or submit a contact message, we retain the message and return details as needed to respond. We do not share that correspondence outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
When a page loads, web systems may record routine technical and usage information needed to operate and understand the service. That information can include:
- the internet protocol address used for the request;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring website, when supplied; and
- the date and time of access.
Cookie Use
Cookies help measure how visitors move through the site and support certain functions. Most browsers allow cookies to be limited or blocked. Some features may work differently when those files are refused.
How Information Supports the Site
- operate the pages reliably and improve load performance;
- send search requests to the selected partner service;
- understand which Val Verde County resources visitors use;
- detect errors, abuse, and other technical problems; and
- display advertising that may be selected according to inferred interests.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to Val Verde County release records, Sheriff and court pages, TDCJ resources, federal locators, and outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices control. We do not set those terms.
Some advertising companies may use their own technology to observe activity across more than one site and select targeted ads. That processing occurs through their systems, not through a separate profile maintained by us.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed or transmitted to limited parties involved in site operation:
- search providers that process a submitted query;
- analytics services that measure use;
- advertising networks that deliver ads; and
- law enforcement or another government body when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs requests made to Texas government offices, including many Val Verde County and TDCJ records. It does not convert this private site into a government records custodian.
Security Is Best Effort
We use customary safeguards suited to the information and systems involved. No website, internet transmission, or storage platform can be guaranteed secure in every circumstance. We therefore cannot promise that a breach, interception, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, contact us so the material can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your Information Choices
- ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of information that is inaccurate;
- ask us to erase personal data when applicable; and
- object to or opt out of certain processing where that choice is available.
These choices concern information held by this site. Requests for a Val Verde County, TDCJ, court, or third-party record must go to that separate custodian.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as services, vendors, or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date.
