Val Verde IVSS Replaced VINE
Texas ended the legacy county VINE registration system on September 1, 2025 and migrated county registrations to Texas IVSS-Counties. Older VINELink sheets and search results may still describe phone or email registration followed by a four-digit PIN. Those steps are historical. The current live interface controls confirmation, and no current PIN step was observed beyond CAPTCHA during research.
Val Verde County participation could not be confirmed through the public CAPTCHA interface. Do not state that the Sheriff or detention facility is an active data provider without a county result or support confirmation. The portal’s own warning says participation varies and status is not an official record. Its data can still be useful when a participating agency produces a match.

The transition notice supports the current brand and date. It does not prove that Val Verde supplies live records to the portal.
Search Val Verde County IVSS
Begin with the most exact identifier available. The current portal accepts a full first and last name, partial names using at least the first three characters of each, DOC ID, SID, jail ID, or permanent booking number. Complete the CAPTCHA. When several names appear, compare identifiers and the custody or supervision agency before opening a record.
Search results can be affected by spelling, order of names, aliases, data delay, participation, and the person’s custody status. A person no longer in custody may not appear. “Unknown/Undisclosed” can reflect pending court information. Neither result means a confirmed release. Save the query details and follow the no-match path rather than changing names until a convenient result appears.

- Enter the full name or a precise state, jail, or booking identifier.
- Use the permitted partial-name pattern if the exact legal spelling is uncertain.
- Complete CAPTCHA and compare every returned identity field.
- Open only the record whose identifiers and agency fit the person sought.
- Read the custody or supervision status, then note the reporting agency and event wording.

Val Verde IVSS Release Fields
IVSS is an event and status service. The exact fields depend on the record and participating agency. Preserve the full screen or alert language because “release,” “transfer,” and “transfer to TDCJ” have different meanings. A person leaving the mixed-use Val Verde detention facility might enter another county, state, federal, immigration, or military authority rather than the community.

A prior notification registration may remain active if the person later returns to custody, even when the individual no longer appears in a current search. That is useful for ongoing alerts, but it is not a complete historical release record.
Register Val Verde Release Alerts
After confirming the right record, select the available event types. The portal may offer booking, release, court-event, death, escape, and transfer-to-TDCJ notifications. Choose call, text, or email when offered, along with language, time, or other preferences displayed by the live interface. Supply the requested contact information and finish the current confirmation step.
Registration may be available without an account. Account holders may receive tools for pausing alerts, reviewing history, or managing several registrations. Availability must be read from the live screen. Preserve the confirmation because it helps support staff locate a registration if notifications fail.
- Open the correctly matched person record.
- Select only the event notices needed for that custody episode.
- Choose among call, text, and email options currently offered.
- Enter contact details and the requested timing or language preferences.
- Complete the confirmation shown by the live portal. Do not substitute an old PIN instruction.
- Save the registration confirmation and support information.
Texas IVSS-Counties receives updates around the clock, and the OAG lists support at 866-268-8959. Around-the-clock intake does not mean each source agency posts an event at once. It also does not establish Val Verde participation.
Confirm Val Verde IVSS Alerts
When a release alert arrives, save the agency name, person identifier, event time, and exact wording. Then contact the agency that created the event. For a Val Verde county booking, request the booking-out sheet, release date and time, release type, legal authority, and receiving destination. Match the court cause number to the release or bond order.
If the message says transfer to TDCJ, search the TDCJ offender system after intake processing. That event is a county release but not release from incarceration. If a federal authority appears, use the federal docket and USMS during pretrial custody, then the BOP locator after designation. If an immigration pickup is documented, use ICE ODLS and ERO. IVSS does not replace those systems.
A court event must also be read carefully. A dismissal can end a charge while physical release occurs later because of processing or another hold. A bond order permits release under stated terms but does not prove the jail completed exit at that moment. Keep the court and custody timestamps as separate facts.
No Val Verde IVSS Match
A no-match has several possible causes. Check spelling, partial-name rules, identifiers, CAPTCHA, and session state first. Next, call support and ask whether Val Verde County is participating. A released person may have dropped from the current view, an agency may not participate, a feed may lag, or the identifier may not match. None is an affirmative released result.
Use the county records fallback. The Val Verde open-records form can request the jail register entry, booking-out sheet, custody history, actual release timestamp, release type and code definition, legal authority, transfer destination if public, and booking number. Ask the District Clerk for the docket, judgment, bond or release order, dismissal, and discharge entry in district cases.
For a state prisoner, use TDCJ’s email or formal Public Information Act route when the live offender tool is silent. A fully discharged former prisoner may be less visible in the current search. For a still-supervised releasee, TDCJ details and the Del Rio District Parole Office are the appropriate state channels.
Val Verde IVSS Coverage Limits
IVSS-Counties is not the BOP locator, ICE locator, a federal pretrial locator, or an adult tool for confidential juvenile cases. Val Verde’s principal detention building serves local and federal populations, so the boundary matters more here. A USMS move between contract facilities may leave no public location record. A later BOP entry applies only after federal designation. ICE ODLS covers current immigration custody and only a limited recent-release period, not a full county history.
The Val Verde County Juvenile Detention Center follows juvenile court, probation, guardian, and placement rules. Do not enter or publish juvenile identity information through adult release workflows. Historical Laughlin AFB arrangements also create a special path in which “removed” may mean return to military authority rather than community release.
A county release alert may describe bond, time served, probation, transfer, or another legal outcome. Request the event’s code definition and releasing authority before interpreting it. Bond means a case may remain pending. Time served should be matched with the judgment and credited days. Transfer means custody continues somewhere else. None should be restated as dismissal or complete discharge without the separate court or sentence record.
IVSS is also different from the TDCJ projected-date field. The state calculation can move because of eligibility, Board review, credits, detainers, programs, or audit work. An alert reports an event supplied to the notification system. If a TDCJ release is expected, compare the alert with Offender Information Details and the release certificate rather than treating the notification as a forecast.
Notification registration should use contact information controlled by the person requesting the alert. Save the confirmation, agency name, and selected events. If a notice appears wrong or fails to arrive, support can address the registration, while only the reporting agency can correct the source custody record. Those are two different requests.
Texas IVSS can add a timely signal, but jurisdiction tells the full story. Ask who held the person, which authority ended that custody, and where the person went next. Then obtain the matching source record.
Preserve Val Verde IVSS Notices
A prior alert should be kept with the county record request. Include its timestamp, event wording, person identifier, and named agency. That detail lets the custodian locate the matching booking episode and determine whether the event represented bond, community release, transfer, or another outcome. Ask for the booking-out sheet and code legend rather than requesting an unexplained status alone. If the event points to another authority, save the alert while following the receiving system.
Support can explain portal operation and registration, but it cannot replace the Sheriff, court, TDCJ, or receiving authority as the primary official record custodian.
